Sending and receiving letters is undergoing something of a revival lately if my Instagram feed is anything to go by! So, I too, have decided to join the snail mail revival.
I have always sent birthday cards to my family and friends, but had recently been noting the very gorgeous stationery and pretty parcels out their in webland! My sister sent me a link to Postcrossing and I immediately signed up, and sent off three postcards – one to Germany and two to Russia. Still waiting (patiently…patiently) to receive mine.
Then I happened across @snailmailrevival on Instagram, saw all the pretty photos of stationery and letters, and joined them, too! And as I pottered about Instagram, I came across Dunne With Style and her gorgeous photos of pretty things, and I learnt about The Creative Exchange.
Needless to say, I signed up for that one, too! But that’s the last one, I promise!!
While I’m waiting, I thought to myself, why don’t I send some pretty snail mail to my church’s missionary wives. So that’s what I’ve done – I’ve sent four already, and will send a few more off in the next couple of days. I also made some gift tags/bookmarks to pop in the letters – I hope they like “pretty”!
And here is some gorgeous snail mail I received a couple of days ago – so pretty.
Does receiving a pretty letter in the mail put a smile on your face? Does it make your heart go skippity-jump when you open it and it is sooo pretty?
Maybe you should jump on the snail mail revival and make someone happy by sending them a pretty letter.
Till next time,
Michelle
