I have been busy looking around Pinterest lately, and got inspired to do something crafty! (You can find me on Pinterest here Cole and Taffy )
So I just happened to be wearing this black denim skirt, which was a hand-me-down from my twin sister (one of the perks of being a twin!)
I really like the length, but have thought for a while that it needed “something.” That something, it turns out, was a band of black gingham ribbon around the bottom!
So last night, I sat down and patiently hand-sewed the ribbon to the skirt, along the stitching of the hemline.
My fingers were quite tender afterwards – pushing a needle through denim is quite tricky!
That’s a close-up. Thankfully, being black the stitches are invisible!
Of course, now I’m thinking that I should have used wider ribbon, but I had the thinner ribbon on hand, so it will have to do. A subtle change, I guess.
So there you have it – a row of black gingham ribbon around the bottom of my black denim skirt with my black mary-janes. Makes my heart ♥ sing!
Till next time
