I found this monogram embroidery pattern on Etsy at September House and thought it would be a great idea for a present for a friend’s birthday which was approaching fast!
So I bought the pattern from sweet Corinne, and I was ready to go.
My friend’s favourite colour is black – which is, of course, not mine! So instead of a pretty floss of any number of colours, I pulled out the black floss and some cream linen and got to work.
There were a number of things to love about this pattern:
♥ it was easy – only backstitch and french knots
♥ it came with every letter of the alphabet! Very generous – now I can make some more for other friends!
♥ the pattern came with clear instructions
♥ there was also a snowflake pattern included
I managed to finish it (although a week later for her birthday) and thought it looked lovely.
I must state that this was my first ever proper embroidery from a pattern, so don’t look too closely because the stitching is not terribly even. I also didn’t press hard enough when I transferred the pattern onto the fabric, so at times I was guessing where to put the next stitch!
However, overall, I am very happy with it!
I finished it off with white felt on the back and a lovely black and white gingham bow.
Wrapped it up pretty, and gave it to my friend. She liked it!!
So, if you haven’t done this kind of embroidery before, go here, buy the pattern, and get started!
Till next time,
Michelle

Michelle this turned out so beautifully! Thank you so much for choosing this pattern – I hope you enjoyed every stitch of it 🙂
I really love your site.. Great colors & theme. Did you build
this website yourself? Please reply back as I’m looking to create
my own personal blog and want to know where you got this from or exactly what the theme is called.
Thanks!
Here is my site nike free 5.0
Thanks for your comment. The theme is a free WordPress theme called Snowberry. I put the photo collage together in Photoshop.
My son helped me set it up and made some changes for me.
Good luck with your blog!
